5 Drink’s That Can Boost Your Health
Water for Hydration
Milk for Bone Health
Cow’s milk is considered controversial in some aspects. Although many, including the federal government, suggest fat-free or low-fat milk because of its goodness to bone health, especially in growing children. “It’s a good source of protein, calcium, and vitamin D,” says Colson. “It’s great for people who are not lactose-intolerant or allergic to the protein in milk.”
For vegans or those who are lactose intolerant, dairy-free milk, like soy or almond, are also wonderful choices. There are many dairy-free kinds of milk that are lower in calories in comparison to cow’s milk. They are supplemented with vitamin D and calcium and other essential nutrients as well.

Black Tea for Disease Prevention
If you like the taste of tea, Jessica Jane, the certified sports nutritionist and the National Association of Sports Nutrition, suggests that black tea, whether iced or hot, offer the same health benefits as the coffee does. Black tea provides a slight metabolic boost, and lots of antioxidants, as well. She also warns that having more than a cup every day may dehydrate you, and you will need to drink more water to compensate the loss.
Green Tea for Antioxidants
“Green tea is a wonderful alternative,” says Jane. “It will help hydrate the body and is very high in antioxidants. It also helps to increase the metabolism.” Years of intensive studies on green tea have revealed that it has a lot of health benefits, with its antioxidants as a neutralizing agent to those that cause aging. It also lowers the risk for heart disease and other certain cancers.
Green tea also enhances a slight metabolic boost, contrary to the popular belief, it doesn’t boost your metabolism so much that it helps in weight-loss.
